My Holiness
My holiness envelops that sun
These hands, that book, that dirty sock
That welt-like mosquito bite, work picnic casualties with babies and senior faculty huddled together
Gasps and sighs at new policies, small plants to take home, watermelon left out in the heat a bit too long
John’s first day of sophomore year is not my triumph but my longing
Alabama Shakes under a gorgeous, slightly muggy Ravinia night
